This role is critical in delivering proactive environmental, health, and safety support across a dynamic and fast-paced organization. This position requires a proactive safety leader who can effectively support field teams, leadership, and operational stakeholders both domestically and internationally.RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and implement contractor management safety programs across the organizationCollaborate with supply, legal and operational partners to drive program successProvide expert EHS support to the Business Operations team, acting as a trusted advisor and safety partnerTravel as needed to engage and coordinate with suppliers, contractors and internal teams as needed.Conduct site assessments, audits, hazard analyses, and safety inspections with minimal oversightDevelop and implement safety programs, training, and risk mitigation strategies tailored to operational needsRespond to urgent safety concerns and support incident investigations across multiple locationsChampion a strong safety culture while balancing operational demands and timelinesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvementBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree3+ years of experience in the design, development and operational oversight of environmental, health and safety disciplinesPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)Demonstrated experience in managing contractor safety management programs5+ years of progressive EHS experience in high-risk or industrial environmentsDemonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal direction and make sound decisions in the fieldStrong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skillsProven experience supporting business operations or field-based teamsDeep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and international EHS regulationsProfessional certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent) strongly preferredExcellent organizational, presentation, training and communication skillsExperience with interpreting, applying, and documenting federal, state, and local safety regulationsExperience with emergency response communication and incident managementIntermediate Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)Position occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends when neededADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Position occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends when neededIf not local to a SpaceX site relocation will be necessaryWillingness and ability to travel 50%+ domestically and internationallyITAR REQUIREMENTS:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
